his design has been printed onto 100% linen and as such any slubs in the fabric are a natural characteristic of the product and therefore not considered a defect. Natural fabrics such as linen are inclined to show slub characteristics – nature does not create perfectly even fibres, and this becomes apparent as they are twisted together. Slubs can appear going in either direction of the fabric – but in home textiles, they have generally seen in the weft (horizontal) direction. These slubs or small knots occur randomly along its length and are a part of the aesthetic appeal of natural linen.

After the natural linen fabric has been woven and treated, it is then digitally printed. This process is carried out with an inkjet system which cannot fully penetrate the cloth. This means there may become areas where slubs appear more noticeable
